Wheeling, W.V. (September 20, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's women's rugby fell to the reigning national champion Wheeling Cardinals by a score of 62-0. With the loss, the Mountaineers fall to 2-1-1 heading into their matchup next weekend with Queens.
The Mountaineers came into the matchup with Wheeling off the back of a 22-14 win against Penn State on September 13. The Mount also recorded a 17-17 tie against Sacred Heart and a 55-12 win against La Salle on September 6 and August 30 respectively.
Before their meeting with the Mount, Wheeling had recorded a record of 2-1 with victories over Penn State and Ohio State, losing to Davenport on September 6.
