Women’s Rugby Picks Up 15’s Victory Against Penn State

EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 13, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's women's rugby now stands at 2-0-1 during the 15's season, using timely tries and strong defense to defeat Penn State 22-14 Saturday at Echo Field.

Four different Mountaineers reached the try zone during the match. Neely Denlinger was the first to cross, followed by Anita Manglona. Shaniah Mayers completed a conversion on the Manglona try. Heading into the break, the home side led the Nittany Lions 12-0.

Zy'Quaria Climons scored the third try of the afternoon for Mount, and Victoria Holmes guaranteed the victory by securing a try with four minutes remaining on the clock. Those scores were enough to withstand two scores by Penn State and earn the victory.

Traveling next weekend, Mount St. Mary's looks to remain unbeaten with a match against Wheeling next Saturday (Sept. 20).
