EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 23, 2021) – Riding a five-game win streak, the Mount St. Mary's women's basketball team embarks on their longest road trip of the season to Merrimack.
MOUNTAINEER REPORT
Two fantastic efforts with toppled records guided the Mount sweep Bryant with a pair of 38 point wins.
Michaela Harrison earned an individual school record with nine three-pointers, helping the team secure a single-game record of 18 on Saturday. Five players, including Harrison, posted double figures in scoring in Sunday's duplication.
Harrison won the Northeast Conference Player of the Week for her performance. Freshman
Jessica Tomasetti secured Rookie of the Week honors, thanks in large part to a career-high 14 points.
The Mount maintained its second place hold in the NEC standings with the victories.
MULLING MERRIMACK
The Warriors were one of the last teams to begin play for the 2020-21 season, making their debut on January 23
rd. Merrimack stands at 3-8 on the season.
This week's contests pair up the top two three-point shooting teams in the conference. They are led by Kate Mager, whose percentage of .423 in tops in the NEC. Both Merrimack and the Mount have converted on 35.9 percent of their attempts. Senior forward Madison Kimball is the Warriors' top scorer and rebounder, at 13.2 points and 5.5 rebounds.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES
Merrimack joined the NEC, making the jump to Division I for the 2019-20 season. In their first season in the conference, the Warriors and Mountaineers split their first-ever meetings – a 76-55 Merrimack win in January and a 63-52 Mount win in February. Harrison led all scorers for the Mountaineers with 17 points during their win.

The final week for the Mount will be a challenging one, with games against Saint Francis U and Wagner to complete the regular season.
