Mount St. Mary’s Men’s Lacrosse Announces Team Captains

Emmitsburg, Md. (November 8, 2021) – The Mount St. Mary's men's lacrosse program has announced that Jared McMahon, Connor McMahon, Kadin Kightlinger, and Noah Daniels were selected as captains for the 2022 season.

"The 2022 Men's Lacrosse Captains are outstanding team choices. These young men are very strong student athletes and represent our University and team culture by leading lives of significance on and off the field," said Head Coach Tom Gravante. "Their ability to lead our team with strong values in commitment, accountability, humility and discipline is what makes them special young men and the player choice to be honored as the 2022 team captains. My staff and I are excited to work with and learn from them as captains and liaisons between the coaching staff and the team."

Jared McMahon has been a consistent playmaker for the Mount since he arrived on campus. Playing in 34 games over his three-year career, McMahon has registered 23 goals, 16 assists, and picked up 15 ground balls. Last season, the senior from Bloomsbury, New Jersey, played in all 13 games, making eight starts registering nine goals, four assists to finish with 13 points, three ground balls, and three caused turnovers. McMahon ended last season on a five-game scoring streak and looks to continue that in the 2022 season.

This year, Connor McMahon looks to lead the Mountaineers to a playoff appearance after putting in career-best numbers last season. He recorded ten goals, two assists, 12 points, five ground balls, and caused two turnovers the previous season. McMahon has played in every game the three years he has been in Emmitsburg, starting in only two of those games. McMahon has totaled 19 points with 13 goals and six assists with nine ground balls and three caused turnovers in his career. Just like his twin brother Jared, Connor ended the year on a five-game scoring streak last season and looks to continue during the 2022 season.

Kightlinger returns as a graduate student to help the Mount return to the NEC playoffs after missing it last year. He has made 16 career appearances while starting in eight of those games totaling eight points with six goals and two assists, adding five ground balls and one caused turnover.

Daniels returns for his senior season as a crucial part of the Mount's defensive unit. He has registered only 12 points in three years at the Mount with eight goals and four assists. Daniels picked up 60 ground balls and caused 15 turnovers in 30 career games for the Mountaineers.

Last year, the Mount went 4-9 with a 2-5 NEC record missing out on the playoffs.
