Boston, Mass. (March 8, 2020)--Carter Nave broke the school record in the pole vault to lead the Mount St. Mary's indoor track and field teams at the ECAC-IC4A Championships on Sunday.
Nave finished second in the pole vault at the meet, clearing 5.05m (16' 6.75") to break the Mount's school record. The previous mark of 4.93m (16' 2") was set by David Hinton on January 24, 2004, in Princeton, N.J.
The Mount's Emily Lewis competed in the finals in the 60m hurdles, finishing with a time of 9.62 seconds to finish in eight place. Lewis set the school record with a mark of 8.65 seconds in the semifinals yesterday.
The Mount's women's 4x400m relay team of Chardane Logan, Chalys Caruth, Dominique Jeffery and Lewis finished in ninth place with a time of 3:48.90. Yesterday in the preliminary round, the quartet posted a time of 3:48.37, the second-fastest mark in Mount history.
