RESULTS
April 23, 2019--Freshman Rene Rosso leads the heptathlon after the first day of competion at the Penn Relays while Christopher Gabor is in second place in the decathlon. Rosso collected 2,907 points on day one while Gabor tallied 3,645.
Rosso started the competition strong with atime of 14.85 seconds in the 100m hurdles for 862. She added 830 points with her mark of 1.68m (5' 6") in the high jump. She closed out day one with a shot put of 9.33m (30' 7.5", 486 points) and a mark of 26.79 seconds in the 200m (729 points). Connecticut'sKelly Ward is in second place with 2,762 points while Messiah's Taylor Wiederrecht is third with 2,751 points.
Gabor is in second place in the decathlon with 3,645 points, trailing Ken Mullings (University of the Bahamas), who has 3,825 points after the first day. Gabor opened the competition with a time of 11.23 seconds in the 100m dash for 854 points. He then posted a long jump of 6.34m (20' 9.75") for 661 points, and then added another 661 points for his shot put of 12.90m (40' 4"). Gabor closed out the day with a high jump of 1.83m (6') for 813 points and a time of 49.97 seconds for 816 points in the 400m dash.
