The Mount St. Mary's University women's soccer team wraps up its four-game homestand this Saturday (Sept. 3) with a contest against Lehigh at 1 p.m. at Waldron Family Stadium.
LAST TIME OUT
Junior Chloe Cain scored off a header just over two and a half minutes into overtime to lift the Mountaineers to a 2-1 victory over American University on Sunday as the Mountaineers collected their first win of the season. Sophomore Jenna West scored the other goal for the Mount, capitalizing on a ball from Sarah Harmon in the 78th minute. Goalkeeper Maddy Bunnell registered a season-high seven saves in net to grab her first win with the Mount.
ABOUT THE MOUNT
The Mountaineers have collected points in each of their last two contests, playing to a 1-1 draw with Howard last Friday before registering their first victory of the 2016 campaign in a 2-1 overtime win against American on Sunday. The Mount leads the conference in assists per game (1.67) and ranks second in goals per game (1.33) through the opening three contests.
First-year coach Joe Nemzer, who spent the last three seasons as an assistant at Central Michigan, captured his first victory as a head coach in Sunday's overtime triumph against American.
BUNNELL COLLECTS CONFERENCE HONOR
Goalie Maddy Bunnell was named the Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Week following a successful 1-0-1 weekend from the Mountaineers. Bunnell made a combined 12 saves and posted an .857 save percentage in the pair of games vs. Howard and American while surrendering just two goals total. The Cincinnati native owns a 1.54 goals against average and .762 save percentage in three starts in net this season.

SCOUTING LEHIGH
The Mountain Hawks topped LIU Brooklyn, 4-0, and Marist, 3-0, their last two times out to improve to 2-0-1 on the year. They've yet to surrender a goal this season and have outshot opponents by a 26-16 margin. Tori Pantaleo leads the squad with three goals, while Becca Sherry and Adrian Vitello have three points apiece on a goal and an assist each. Sam Miller has started all three games in net, stopping all 16 shots on goal she's faced.
THE MATCHUP
The Mountaineers are looking for their first win in the all-time series with the Mountain Hawks, who have come away with victories in all three of the meetings. The two teams have met in each of the last two seasons with Lehigh posting a 1-0 win in 2014 and a 7-0 victory a season ago.
