Mount Track Has Good Performances at Bucknell Team Challenge

COMPLETE RESULTS

Lewisburg, Pa. (April 23, 2016)—Freshman Brian Sagendorf won the javelin to pace the Mount St. Mary's men's and women's track and field teams at the Bucknell Team Challenge today.

On his final throw, Sagendorf had a PR toss of 63.20m (207' 4") to win the javelin for the Mountaineers.  Julian Woods had a strong performance, finishing in second place in both the 110m hurdles (14.52) and the 400m hurdles (49.15).  Josh Poole finished in third place in the 400m (49.15) while Chase Boyle finished fourth with a personal record in the hammer throw (55.81m).  Nick Fransham won the 5,000m while Scott Baker was third while Brenden Chavis had a PR while finishing sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 54.49m.

For the women, Jessica Whitmore finished in second place in the 100m dash (12.30).  Natalia Hinton finished third in the 100m hurdles (14.83) and fourth in the long jump (5.49m, 18' 0.25') while Virginia Owusu-Mainoo finished fifth in both the discus (38.16m) and shot put (12.36m).  Mariah McLane was fourth in the 400m dash with a PR time of 58.09 while the 4x100m relay team finished in fourth place (48.12).

The Mount track teams are in action at the Penn Relays this week and the Saint Francis Red Flash Open next Saturday.
