Christopher Gabor Finishes Third in the Heptathlon to Pace Mount Track Teams at IC4A/ECAC Championships

Boston, Mass. (March 6, 2016)—Christopher Gabor finished in third place in the heptathlon to pace the Mount St. Mary's Indoor Track and Field teams at the IC4A/ECAC Championships this weekend.

Gabor led the way by finishing in third place in the heptathlon with 4,911 points.  Marc Hoeller of Manhattan won the event with 5,087 points, followed by Tyler Latham of Central Connecticut with 4,950 points.  Gabor won the 60m dash, finished third in the field in the long jump and fourth in the field in the shot put.

Also for the men, Chase Boyle finished in 10th place in the weight throw (17.41m) while Brenden Chavis finished 17th  (14.80m).  Josh Poole finished 15th in the 400m dash with a time of 48.68 seconds.  Julian Woods advanced to the semifinals of the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.21 seconds. 

For the women at the ECAC Championships, Genamarie McCant finished 15th in the 400m dash in a time of 55.53 seconds.  Helena Leyrer advanced to the semifinals in the 60m hurdles, posting a time of 8.88 seconds in the semifinal round.  The Mount's 4x400m relay team of Isabel Ross, Leyrer, Kirsten O'Malley and McCant finished 18th in a time of 3:52.14.  Natalia Hinton was 12th in the long jump (5.59m) while Moriah Fitzgerald competed in the pole vault.
