Mount Track Teams Return to Action at Colonial Relays

The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's outdoor track and field teams are headed to the 51st edition of the Colonial Relays, hosted by the College of William and Mary March 31 thru April 2.

MOUNT UPDATE:  The Mountaineers are back in action for the first time since the season-opening meet at Coastal Carolina on March 17-19.  Kelly Yanucil finished in second place with a toss of 48.92m to lead the Mount women.  Christopher Gabor finished in second place in the decathlon.  Final Recap | Second Day Recap

PRESEASON POLLS:  The Mount St. Mary's University women's outdoor track and field team has been picked to finish in third place while the men's team was tabbed to finish in fourth place in the annual Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.  Full Release.

YANUCIL WINS NEC WEEKLY HONOR:  Kelly Yanucil has been named the Northeast Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week.  Yanucil, who is the NEC's Outdoor Championship meet record holder in the javelin, opened the season with an impressive performance at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational hosted by Coastal Carolina on March 17-19.  Yanucil had a toss of 48.92m (160' 6") to finish in second place in the javelin behind Tennessee's Maria Jimenez (49.19m).  Overall, Yanucil's mark ranks sixth on the NCAA Division I East Region Leader board.  It is the top mark in the NEC this year, and is 7.00m better than the qualifying standard for the ECAC Championships.
