Christopher Gabor in Third Place in Decathlon After First Day at Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational

Myrtle Beach, S.C. (March 18, 2016)--Christopher Gabor is in third place after the first day of competition in the decathlon while Chase Boyle finished in sixth place in the hammer throw on the first day of competition at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational hosted by Coastal Carolina.

Gabor finished the first day of the decathlon in third place with 3,560 points.  Purdue has the top two in the standings with Tim Deal leading with 3,841 points and Matthew Garrison in second with 3,811 points.

Gabor had the 2nd fastest time in the decathlon field in the 100m dash with a time of 11.12 seconds.  He psoted a long jump of 6.58m, cleared 1.85m in the high jump, had a mark of 11.49m in the shot put, and a time of 51.10 seconds in the 400m dash.

Chase Boyle finished in sixth place in the hammer throw on Thursday night as welll.  Boyle had a toss of 55.61m (182' 5")
