Akron, Ohio (February 6, 2016)—The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Akron Invitational this past weekend.

Josh Poole finished in eight place in the Gold Division 400m dash with a mark of 48.74 seconds while Julian Woods finished sixth in the 60m hurdles at 8.19 seconds.  The Mount's 4x100m relay team of Jas Chung-Campbell, Poole, Chris Gabor and Woods finished in fifth place with a time of 3:24.00.  Chung-Campbell was third in the Blue Division 400m dash at 49.81 seconds with Benjamin Finnegan placing four in the Blue Division Mile Run.  Chase Boyle also had a fourth place finish, his coming in the weight throw in the Blue Division (16.74m).

In the pole vault Blue Division, Elissa Ingram and Moriah Fitzgerald each cleared 3.36m.  Natalia Hinton placed sixth in the Blue Division long jump with a leap of 5.44m.   Corie Scharpf finished tied for sixth in the high jump in the Blue Division at 1.55m while Kirsten O'Malley was eighth in the triple jump in the Blue Division.

The Mountaineers are back in action next Saturday at the Monmouth Winter Collegiate Open.
