Genamarie McCant Wins 400m to Pace Mount Track Teams at Monmouth Winter Collegiate Open

West Long Branch, N.J. (February 13, 2016)--Genamarie McCant won the 400m dash to pace the Mount St. Mary's men's and women's indoor track and field teams at the Monmouth Winter Collegiate Open on Saturday.

McCant took home first place in the 400 with a winning time of 58.11 seconds.  Jessica Whitmore finished sixth in the 60m dash (7.89) while Helena Leyrer was second in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.13 seconds.  Natalia Hinton finished fourth in the long jump (5.60m), Elissa Ingram fifth in the pole vault (3.45m), Erin Sample fourth in the shot put (12.62m) and Virginia Owusu-Mainoo fifth in the shot put (12.58) for the Mount women as well.

The men's 4x400m relay team of Jas Chung-Campbell, Julian Woods, Christopher Gabor and Josh Poole finished first with a mark of 3:23.40.  Woods finished in seond place in the 60m hurdles (8.37) while D.J. Workcuff was fifth in the high jump (1.94m) and 5th in the 60m dash (7.12).  Chase Boyle added a second place finish in the weight throw (17.41m).

The Mount track teams are back in action at the 2016 Northeast Conference Championships on Feb. 19 and 20 in Staten Island, N.Y.
