The Mountaineers sit at 4-11-1 overall and 0-6 in Northeast Conference action with two games remaining in the regular season. Last weekend, the Mount played LIU Brooklyn and Wagner tough, but fell in the final minutes of each game. Jenna West and Gianna Pomykacz registered the team's goals in the 3-2 overtime loss at LIU Brooklyn, and Pomykacz followed up with another tally at Wagner before the Seahawks netted the game-winner with just three minutes remaining to top the Mount, 2-1.
West leads the squad in all three scoring categories this year and is tied with teammate Jaylyn Chandler for fifth in the conference in goals (4). West and Chandler also rank among the top-10 in the NEC in points, combining for 21 on the season. Goalie Maddy Bunnell has started 14 of the team's 16 contests in net, and ranks fourth in the league in saves per game (5.64) and fifth in goals against average (1.87).

The Pioneers are tied for second in the NEC with a 4-1-1 conference mark and 7-5-4 overall record. They enter the matchup with the Mount on a two-game winning streak following victories over Saint Francis U (2 OT) and LIU Brooklyn (1-0) last weekend. Melanie DaSilva and Emily Dawidczyk are the team's top offensive threats, combining for six goals and a pair of assists on the year. Goalie Nicole Sambuco has started all 16 games in net and leads the league in goals against average (0.93) and shutouts (8).
INSIDE THE MATCHUP
Friday's meeting marks the 19th all-time matchup between the Mount and Sacred Heart. The Pioneers hold a 12-5-1 advantage in the series, but the Mount looks to build off a 2-1 victory last season in Fairfield behind goals from Gianna Pomykacz and Kristen Morawski.

The Knights dropped their first conference matchup of the season last Friday against Robert Morris (1-0), but responded with a victory at league-leader Central Connecticut (2-0) on Sunday to move to 4-1-1 in NEC play and 6-10-1 overall. Elma Kolenovic leads all players in the NEC with six goals and Jessi Reinhardt is tied for first in assists (5) as the duo ranks first and second in the league in points, respectively. Amanda Fitzgerald owns a 2.25 goals against average and .732 save percentage in 16 starts in net for the Knights.
