Box Score Emmitsburg, Md. (October 14, 2016) – Mount St. Mary's University dropped a 2-0 decision to Bryant in Northeast Conference women's soccer action Friday from Waldron Family Stadium.
Bryant jumped out to an early lead in the contest on Haley Reddish's eighth minute goal. Reddish received a pass from Hannah Crofut and drilled a one-timer from 25 yards out off the bottom of the crossbar and into the back of the net to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 advantage.
The Bulldogs added to their advantage on Claire Bergh's first goal of the season early in the second half. Reddish picked up a loose ball in the box and dropped a pass back to Bergh, who slotted it inside the far post to push the Bryant lead to 2-0.
Late in the second half, the Mount had its two best scoring opportunities of the contest, beginning with Shayna Macfarlane's long shot from a bad angle that narrowly sailed over the crossbar. Minutes later, Dom Stauffer headed one just wide of the net as the Mount was held off the board.
Kaylan Conrad registered her sixth win of the season in the shutout effort in net for Bryant. Her counterpart, Maddy Bunnell, took the loss despite making four saves.
The Mount continues NEC play on Sunday, October 16 with a home match against Robert Morris at 1 p.m. at Waldron Family Stadium.
