Box Score Emmitsburg, Md. (September 4, 2015)--The Mount St. Mary's women's soccer team fell to Bucknell, 2-0, in a non-conference matchup at Waldron Family Stadium on Friday night. Senior goalkeeper Rachel Bourne (Baltimore, Md.) made 10 saves for the Mount in the game.
A scoreless first half featured tremendous diving saves by each team's goalkeeper. Bourne kept the Bison off the scoreboard in the 18th minute when she dove to her left on a shot from Sarah Bresette.
Bucknell goalkeeper Jessica Ratner came up with a diving stop of her own in the 40th minute to preserve the scoreless tie. After a scoreless first 10 minutes of the second half, lightning delayed the game by one hour and 15 minutes. Bucknell (2-2-1) was able to take control of the game after the delay, taking the lead when Madison Loos collected just outside the box on the left side and sent a perfect shot to the upper right corner in the 62nd minute.
Kendall Ham scored in the 79th minute when she tapped in a cross from Cora Climo to give Bucknell a two-goal cushion.
The Bison held a 25-to-5 advantage in shots and a 10-to-4 edge in corner kicks. Bourne came away with 10 saves for the Mount while Ratner made two saves for Bucknell.
The Mount returns to action on Sunday with a 1:00 p.m. matchup at Penn.
