Mount St. Mary's Women's Soccer Downed by VCU

Richmond, Va. (September 20, 2015)—The Mount St. Mary's women's soccer team lost at VCU, 6-0, in a non-conference matchup on Sunday afternoon.

The Rams (2-6-1) got on the scoreboard in the eighth minute when Dallas Smith connected for her first goal of the season.  Julia Suarez scored with 1:17 left in the first half to make the score 2-0.  VCU scored four times in the second half to seal the victory.

Vicky Cocozza made 10 saves for the Mount in the game as the Mountaineers were outshot 26-to-7 in the contest.   Kirsten O'Malley paced the offense with three shots.  Each team finished with five corner kicks.

The Mount (1-9-0) is back in action on Sunday, September 27, with a 1:00 p.m. game at Delaware State.
