Mount Track Has Good Showing on First Day of Wake Forest Open

The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's outdoor track and field teams opened the 2015 season at the Wake Forest Open on Friday.

Sara Gardner paced the Mount on the opening day of the meet, finishing seventh in the 100m hurdles. Gardern posted the fifth-fastest time (14.63) to earn a spot in the finals. She had a mark of 14.82 seconds in the finals.

Jessica Whitmore had the 11th fastest time in the 100m dash at 12.48 seconds while Genamarie McCant had the 11th best time in the 400m dash a 57.52 seconds.

On the men's side, Josh Poole had a time of 49.10 seconds in the 400m to lead the way. The meet concludes on Saturday.
