Landover, Md. (February 22, 2015)--The Mount St. Mary's men's indoor track and field team finished in seventh place while the women's team was eighth in the 2015 Northeast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships held at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex.
LIU Brooklyn won the men's meet with 140 points, followed by Central Connecticut (120), Saint Francis U (86.50, Wagner (84.5), Sacred Heart (74), Fairleigh Dickinson (69), Mount St. Mary's (53), Bryant (25) and St. Francis Brooklyn (10).
Sacred Heart won the women's meet with 163 points, followed by LIU Brooklyn (137), Central Connecticut (64), Wagner (60), Robert Morris (55), Saint Francis U (47), Fairleigh Dickinson (46), Mount St. Mary's (37), St. Francis Brooklyn (27) and Bryant (26).
Josh Poole finished in second place in the 500m dash with a mark of 1:05.23 to pace the Mountaineer men's team. Jas Chung-Campbell placed sixth in the 500m as well with a time of 1:07.18. Chase Boyle had a third-place finish in the weight throw with in IC4A qualifying mark of 17.03m. Brenden Chavis was fourth in the weight throw at 15.37m.
Kody Wilson earned fourth place in the 800m (1:54.85) with Christopher Eltringham taking sixth place (1:59.07). Todd Sampson was seventh in the 60m hurdles (8.60) and Chris Evans seventh in the 5,000m run (15:33.07). D.J. Workcuff was seventh in the high jump (1.98m) as well.
In the relays, the men's distance medley relay team of Sean Fritz, Branden Courtney, Eltringham and Jesse Langton was second with a time of 10:34.4.
On the women's side, Sara Gardner paced the squad with a second-place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.92 seconds.
Jessica Whitmore finished third in the 60m dash with a time of 7.77 seconds with Moriah Fitzgerald finishing third in the pole vault (3.40m). Genamarie McCant was fifth in the 200m dash (25.90) while Desi Scott was fifth in the 500m (1:19.15).
