Box Score Emmitsburg, Md. (October 25, 2015)--The Mount St. Mary's University women's soccer team was edged by visiting Wagner, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon. Senior goalkeeper Rachel Bourne (Baltimore, Md.) made seven saves for the Mount in the game.
The Seahawks (4-11-1, 3-3-0 NEC) scored the game winner when Amber Coca's corner kick deflected off the hands of Bourne into goal in the 67th minute.
The Mount's best scoring chance came in the first half when Gianna Pomykacz (Williamstown, N.J.) took a pass in the box, spun around and sent a shot that evaded Wagner goalkeeper Katie Viscardi, but was blocked by a defender.
Wagner held a 13-to-9 edge in shots, including an 8-to-6 margin in shots on goal. Bourne made seven saves for the Mount (3-13-2, 2-3-3 NEC) while Viscardi had six saves to earn the shutout win.
Mount St. Mary's closes out the regular season at Robert Morris on Friday, October 30, at 3:30 p.m.
Game Notes: The Mount honored seniors Emma Blake, Rachel Bourne, Vicky Cocozza, Sam Manson, Paige Pohopin, Kelsey Pressler, Nicole Valley and Brinley Watts prior to the game...The loss snapped the Mount's program record four-game unbeaten streak.
