Lewisburg, Pa. (January 24, 2015)--The Mount St. Mary's indoor track and field teams had three student-athletes earn spots to the ECAC/IC4A Championships to highlight the today's performance at the Bucknell Gulden Relays.
On the women's side, Genamarie McCant finished in second place in the 500m dash with an ECAC qualifying mark of 1:16.73. McCant also finished in third place in the 200m dash with a time of 25.61 seconds.
For the men, Kody Wilson finished in second place with an IC4A qualifying mark of 2:29.65 in the 1,000-meter run. Julian Woods earned a spot at the IC4A Championships after finishing in second place with a time of 8.14 seconds in the 60m hurdles.
Jessica Whitmore finished in second place in the 60m dash with a time of 7.78 seconds in the finals. She had a mark of 7.74 seconds in the preliminaries. Sara Gardner was fifth in the 60m hurdles (9.16), Moriah Fitzgerald tied for second in the pole vault (3.30m), Virginia Owusu-Mainoo was third in the weight throw (15.30m) and Ali Donahue finished fourth in the weight throw (14.89m) in other top performances for the women's team.
The Mountaineers return to action next week with athletes competing at the Penn State National Invitational and the George Mason Patriot Games.
