Mount Track Has Good Showing at Bucknell Team Challenge

Lewisburg, Pa. (April 19, 2014)--Coby Rosemier-Gussio won the 200m dash while Julian Woods took home first place in the 400m hurdles to pace the Mount St. Mary's track teams at the Bucknell Team Challenge on Saturday afternoon.

Rosemier-Gussio won the 200m with an IC4A qualifying mark of 21.46 seconds.   Woods took home first place in the 400m hurdles with a time of 53.02 seconds.

Rosemier-Gussio also finished in second place in the 100m dash (10.78) while Chris Eltringham was fourth in the 800m run.  Joseph Barbato finished fifth in the javelin for the Mountaineers with a toss of 50.87m.

For the women, Maria Borland finished in second place in the 800m run with a time of 2:10.45, which is second all-time at the Mount.  Sister Stephanie was right behind, finishing third in the 800 with a mark of 2:13.50.

Kelly Yanucil placed fourth in the javelin (40.93), Elissa Ingram fourth in the pole vault (3.50m) and Madeleine Midles fourth in the hammer throw (46.57m).  Helena Leyrer earned second place in the 100m hurdles (14.56) while Genamarie McCant was fourth in the 400m (57.05).

The women's 4x400m relay team of Desi Scott, Maria Borland, Leyrer and McCant took home first place, earning a spot at the ECAC's with time of 3:49.55.

The Mount track teams are in action next at next week's Penn Relays.
