Mount Track Competes at Maryland Invitational

March 29, 2014--Freshman Kelly Yanucil won the javelin to highlight the Mount St. Mary's men's and women's track and field teams at the Maryland Terrapin Invitational on Saturday.

Helena Leyrer posted a personal-best time of 14.53 seconds in the 100m hurdles to take third place at the meet. Her time is fourth on the Mount's all-time list. Madeleine Midles finished second in the hammer throw (49.22m, 161' 6") while Maria Borland was third in the 1,500m run (4:43.57). Stephanie Borland placed second in the 800m run while the Mount's 4x400m relay team of Desi Scott, Genamarie McCant, and the Borland sisters finished second as well.

On the men's side, Mike Dwyer posted a personal-best in the hammer throw for the second consecutive week. His mark of 48.71m (159' 10") is second all-time at the Mount. Josh Poole finished in third place in the 400m dash.

The Mount track teams are back in action next weekend at the Colonial Relays.
