The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at both the George Mason Patriot Games and the Penn State National Invitational on Saturday.
Coby Rosemier-Gussio won the heptathlon to pace the Mountaineers at the George Mason Patriot Games. Rosemier-Gussio took home first place by collecting 4,936 points in the seven events. He opened the competition with the best score in both the 60m dash (6.98, 889 points) and the shot put (11.54m, 579 points) while he had the second-best mark in the long jump (6.67m, 736 points) and the fifth-best score in the high jump (1.76m, 593 points).
On Saturday, he was second in the field in the 60m hurdles (8.72, 809 points), he had the fourth-most points in the pole vault (4.00m, 617 points) and finished with the top time in the 1,000m run (2:15.74, 713 points).
Shane Holcomb finished ninth in the 3000m run while Tommy Gruschow was 10th in the mile run for the Mountaineers. Chase Boyle, Mike Dwyer and Eric Belt finished 6th, 7th and 8th, respectively in the weight throw while Dwyer was fifth in the shot put.
For the women, Corie Scharpf was eighth in the heptathlon while Allie Donahu was fifth in the weight throw with Madeleine Midles was sixth in the event.
At Penn State, Genamarie McCant was sixth in the 500m dash with a time of 1:15.68. Maria Borland finished fifth in the 800m run (2:11.70) while twin sister Stephanie was 7th in the 800m with a mark of 2:13.68.
