Maria Borland was named most valuable performer of the meet as the Mount St. Mary's men's and women's indoor track and field teams qualified for nine events in the ECAC/IC4A Championships with a strong performance at the Bucknell Gulden Relays on Saturday afternoon.
Borland won the 800m run with an ECAC qualifying time of 2:14.85, edging her sister Stephanie, who finished second in a time of 2:15.55, also an ECAC qualifying mark.
Jessica Whitmore continued her strong season, breaking the school record in the 60m dash, taking first place with a time of 7.58 seconds. Her time also earns a spot at the ECAC Championships.
Genamarie McCant placed third in the 500m dash (1:16.62) while the 4x400m relay team of Helena Leyrer, Maria and Stephanie Borland, and McCant took home first place with an ECAC qualifying time of 3:53.88.
Leyrer won the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.07 seconds. Corie Scharpf finished third in the long jump while Kristen Galligan finished fourth in the 3,000m run.
On the men's side, Josh Poole, Julian Woods, Chris Eltringham and the 4x800m relay team all qualified for the IC4A Championships.
Poole finished fourth in the 500m run (1:06.14) with Woods taking home fourth place in the 400m dash (49.81). Woods also finished in fourth place in the 60m hurdles (8.26). Eltringham was fourth in the 800m run with his IC4A qualifying time of 1:55.92.
The men's 4x800m relay team comprised of Sean Fritz, Eltringham, Tommy Gruschow and Kody Wilson earned a spot at the IC4As after finishing second at the meet with a mark of 7:53.76.
Coby Rosemier-Gussio was fourth in the 60m dash (7.00) with the 4x400m relay squad of Poole, Woods, Daniel Santalla and Eltringham finishing fourth as well (3:25.19).
