FitzSimons Leads After First Day at Mount Multi's

FIRST DAY RESULTS

Emmitsburg, Md. (April 19, 2012)—Tom FitzSimons leads after the first day of competition in the Mount Multi's Decathlon held at the Mount's Morgan Track.

FitzSimons tallied 3,828 points on the first day of competition, leading teammates Coby Rosemier-Gussio (3,723) and Tim Nickas (3,339).  Jake Nichols (McDaniel) is fourth with 2,963 points, followed by the Mount's Scott Rice and McDaneil's Ron Shriver.

FitzSimons opened with a time of 11.13 seconds in the 100m dash, had a mark of 6.94m in the long jump, a shot put of 11.62 meters, a high jump of 1.93 meters and a time of 48.73 seconds in the 400m dash.

Rosemier-Gussio posted a time of 10.83 seconds in the 100m, had a jump of 7.03m in the long jump, a mark of 10.27m in the shot put, a mark of 1.78m in the high jump and a time of 48.37 in the 400m dash.

Nickas was third with marks of 11.61 in the 100m dash, 6.61m in the long jump, 11.48 in the shot put, 1.69m in the high jump and 50.86 in the 400m dash.

The second day of the decathlon starts tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
