Three Mountaineers Earn All-East Honors at IC4A Championships

Boston, Mass. (March 4, 2012)—The Mount men's indoor track and field team had three members earn All-East honors on Sunday at the IC4A Championships.  Gigi Gibilisco finished third in the 800m run, Tom FitzSimons fourth in the heptathlon and Coby Rosemier-Gussio eighth in the 200m dash.

Gibilisco, who broke the school record in the 800m with a time of 1:49.80 in the prelims yesterday, finished in third in the finals with a time of 1:50.00 to earn All-East honors.  He finished behind Cornell's Rutger Admirand (1:49.03) and Harvard's Darcy Wilson (1:49.98).

FitzSimons closed strong on the second day of the heptathlon to finish in fourth place to earn All-East honors.  FitzSimons entered the final three events in 11th place overall.

He started by collecting 855 points in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.55 seconds and then had a pole vault of 4.05m for 631 points.  FitzSimons finished on a high note, posting a time of 2:32.36 in the 1,000m run to collect 960 points, propelling him to the fourth-place finish.

Rosemier-Gussio finished in eighth place in the 200m dash on Sunday with a time of 21.69 seconds after breaking the school record in the event yesterday with a time of 21.49 in the prelims.

At the ECAC Championships, Morgan Ostasewski finished in 13th place in the weight throw with a toss of 16.26m.
