Coby Rosemier-Gussio Wins 100m and 200m at Eric Kloiber Invitational

COMPLETE RESULTS

Emmitsburg, Md. (March 31, 2012)--Freshman Coby Rosemier-Gussio won the 100m and 200m dash to pace the Mount St. Mary's men's and women's outdoor track and field teams at the Eric Kloiber Invitational held at the Mount's Morgan Track on Saturday.

Rosemier-Gussio took home first place in the 100m dash with a time of 10.88 seconds.  He then won the 200m with an IC4A qualifying mark of 21.58 seconds.

Gigi Gibilisco took home first place honors in the 800m run (1:52.84) with Sean Fritz finishing in third and Jamie Gibilisco fifth in the event.  Tommy Gruschow won the 1500m with George Martinez and Dylan Bernard placing fourth and fifth, respectively.

Scott Rice won the pole vault while Joe Barbato took first in the javelin to lead the Mount's field events.  Quinton Huguley was third in the long jump (6.95m) and the triple jump for the Mountaineers as well.  Rosemier-Gussio earned a fourth-place mark in the long jump with a mark of 6.59 meters.  Jon Fernandez chipped in a second-place mark in the hammer throw as well.

On the women's side, Heather Juhring won the javelin with a school-record toss of 41.05m (134' 8") while teammate Brandie Trostle was third in the event.  Madeleine Midles won the hammer throw (49.18m, 161' 4") with Morgan Ostasewski and Maggie Pierce finishing third and fourth, respectively.

Pierce finished third in the discus with a toss of 40.13m (131' 8") with Ostasewski finishing in fourth. 

Teika Robinson had a strong day, finishing second in the long jump and third in the triple jump.  Jessica Huber was third in the pole vault as well.

In the running events, Colleen Smith and Megan Kinsella earned third and fourth place finishes, respectively, in the 1,500m run while Nicole Vanagas was fourth in the 400m run.
