Mount Update: The Mountaineers defeated Iona, 2-1, on Sunday to move to 2-4-1 on the season. Ragan Cote and Kelly Baker each scored first-half goals to give the Mount a 2-0 lead at the half. The Mountaineers withstood a second-half rally by the Gaels to earn the win. Goalkeeper Alicia Miller made 10 saves to earn the win as the Mount was outshot 10-to-1 in the second half.
About the Bison: Bucknell lost to Marist, 2-1, in double overtime last Friday to fall to 2-6 on the season. Goalkeeper Sandita McDermott made 14 saves while freshman Brigit Falcon scored her first collegiate goal in the loss. Megan DeGennaro leads Bucknell with three assists while Liz Dwornik and Chelsey Garkowski each have a goal and an assist for the season. McDermott has a 1.56 goals against average and 37 saves in seven games playe while Colleen Garrehy has a 1.23 goals against average and 14 saves in four games.
The All-Time Series with Bucknell: The Mount's 3-0 win in Lewisburg last year snapped the Bison's nine-game win streak in the all-time series. Bucknell, however, is 9-1 all-time against the Mount, including 4-0 in Emmitsburg, Md.

Last Meeting Between the Schools: Jackie Corley scored her first collegiate goal to spark the Mount to a 3-0 win at Bucknell last season. Corley's goal started a run of three goals in a span of nine minutes and 11 seconds to help the Mount to its first-ever win over the Bison. Sarah Malpezzi scored on a header off a corner kick just 2:44 later and Kelly Baker's goal provided the Mount with a 3-0 lead. Sadie Winship added a pair of assist for the Mountaineers as well.
Record Breaker: Senior goalkeeper Alicia Miller made eight saves at American on September 16 to break the Mount's career save record. Miller has posted 367 saves in 60 career games at the Mount, breaking the school mark for games played by a goalkeeper at Iona on Sunday. Anna Lebo (2004-07) set the previous records of 350 saves and 59 games played. Miller is also fifth all-time in school history in save percentage (.763), fifth in goals against average (1.95) and second with eighth shutouts. Miller's 1.19 goals against average last season was the third-best single-season mark in Mount history.
Extra Time: The Mount has gone to overtime in four of seven games this year, including two of the past three. Mount St. Mary's opened the year with a 1-0 overtime win at Rider and followed with a 1-0 overtime loss to Saint Joseph's. The Mount tied American, 1-1, last Friday and fell to Saint Peter's, 1-0, in overtime on Sunday. The Mountaineers are now 4-7-7 in overtime games under head coach Tom Gosselin.
PK's: Kelly Baker scored on a penalty kick in the first half of the Mount's 2-1 win at Iona on Sunday. It was the Mount's first goal on a penalty kick since Kelli Devine scored against East Tennessee State on September 16, 2005.
This and That: The Mount's win at Iona moved the team's record to 2-1-1 on the road…The Mountaineers are 0-3 at home, losing 1-0 each time, including twice in overtime…The Mount has four goals this year by four different players (Kelly Baker, Sadie Winship, Alicia Mirando, Ragan Cote).
Historic Win: The Mount's 1-0 overtime victory over Rider was just the second in a season opener for the Mount women's soccer team. It was also the first time in program history the team has won its season opener on the road. The Mount is now 2-18 all-time in season openers with the other victory coming against Delaware State (10-0) in 2005.
Clean Sheets: Senior goalkeeper Alicia Miller posted her eighth career shutout in the Mount's 1-0 overtime win at Rider. The eighth shutouts are second all-time at the Mount behind Anna Lebo, who had 10 shutouts from 2004-07.
Winship Moving Up Scoring List: Senior forward Sadie Winship has moved into a tie for 10th-place on the Mount's all-time points list. Winship, who has 10 goals and five assists in her Mount career, is tied for ninth all-time in goals scored.
Doubling Up: Courtney Zingle, a second team All-Northeast Conference pick in softball, and Meaghan Conlon, a member of the Mount's women's lacrosse team, each made their debuts in a Mount women's soccer uniform at Towson. Zingle, who hit .338 as a senior last season for the Mount softball team, is a fifth-year senior. Conlon, a junior, had nine goals and four assists while starting in all 18 games for the Mount women's lacrosse team last year.
Preseason Poll: The Mount was picked to finish 10th in the annual Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches poll.
Head Coach Tom Gosselin: Mount St. Mary's head coach Tom Gosselin is in his fifth season at the helm of the Mount's women's soccer program.
Up Next: The Mount opens Northeast Conference play this weekend beginning with a Friday night tilt against Long Island at 7:30 p.m. at Waldron Family Stadium. The Mountaineers then host Wagner at noon on Sunday.
