Women's Soccer Loses at Towson

Towson, Md. (September 11, 2011)—Mount St. Mary's lost at Towson, 5-0, on Sunday afternoon in women's soccer action.   Goalkeeper Alicia Miller made five saves in the loss.

The Tigers (4-2-0) got on the scoreboard in the 18th minute on a goal by Cheyenne Skidmore.    Courntey McKee's pass led to a Skidmore breakaway.  Kaitlin Brooks converted a cross in the 37th minute to push the lead to 2-0.

Towson sealed the win with three second-half goals.  Sofia Read, Skidmore and Emily Banes each found the back of the net in the half.

The Mount (1-3-0) was outshot, 15-10, in the game while Towson had a 3-0 edge in corner kicks.

Mount St. Mary's returns to action on Wednesday, September 14, when Bucknell visits Waldron Family Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
