College Park, Md. (April 9, 2011)--The Mount
St. Mary's men's and women's outdoor track and field teams posted
solid performances at the Maryland Invitational on Saturday. The
men's team finished in second place in the field of 10 while the
women placed third.
On the men's side, Chad Brown won the 200m dash with a mark of
22.25 seconds while posting the top collegiate time of 11.13
seconds in the 100m dash. Gigi Gibilisco won the 800m with a mark
of 1:53.60
The men's 4x100m relay team of Quinton Huguley, Chris
Brewington, Jason Kymingham and Brown took home first place with a
time of 42.84 seconds.
Brewington was fourth in the 200m dash with Kymingham placing
fourth in the 400m. Huguley was third in the long jump (6.63m) with
Steven Ha finishing third in the triple jump (13.76m). Alan
Coulson was fourth in the discus with James Oroho second and
Charles Haberkorn third in the javelin.
For the women, the 4x400m relay team of Ashlyn DeCruise, Lily
Otu, Desiree Scott and Ashley DeCruise won with a time of 3:48.32.
Ashley DeCruise also finished first in the 400m dash (56.35) while
Allison Vanek took home first place in the pole vault (3.51m).
Scott was second in the 400m dash, just .07 seconds behind
Ashley DeCruise. Ashlyn DeCruise was third in the 100m dash
(12.67) while Megan Kinsella was third in the 3000m run
(10:29.22).
Brandie Trostle was second and Hannah Dubois fourth in the
javelin with Teika Robinson earning third in the triple jump.
Madeleine Midles was fourth in the hammer and Colleen Smith fourth
in the 1,500m a swell.
The 4x100m relay team of Chantel Lipkins, Otu and the DeCruise
sisters finished second with a mark of 48 seconds flat.
