Junior Tim Nickas finished in third place in the decathlon at
the Penn Relays today. Marcos Sanchez (Turabo) won the event
with Anya Uzoh (Penn State) finishing in second.
Nickas finished the decathlon with 6,557 points to finish behind
Sanchez (7,178) and Uzoh (7,045). The junior finished the
second day with the top scores in the 1,500m run and the pole vault
while posting the second-best marks in the javelin and the
discus.
Yesterday, Nickas finished the opening day with 3,358 career
points. Nickas had the third-best mark in the 100m dash to
open the competition. He was third in the field in the long
jump and second in the shot put. He had the fourth-best score
in the high jump and the third-best mark in the competition in the
400m dash.
