The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's track and field teams are
competing at the prestigious Penn Relays this week. The Mount
will have student-athletes competing in the decathlon, the relays,
and the long jump.
Tim
Nickas is hoping to continue the Mount's strong tradition in
the Penn Relays decathlon. Last year, Tom
FitzSimons was the winner in the decathlon, giving the Mount a
record 10th winner of the event. The Relays decathlon record
of 7700 points was set by the Mount's William Motti 1985,
the first year of the scoring tables currently in use.
The Mount's women's 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams are competing
on Thursday. The 4x400m squad consists of Ashley
DeCruise, Ashlyn
DeCruise, Desi
Scott and Lily
Otu while the 4x100m quartet includes the DeCruise sisters, Otu
and Chantel
Lipkins.
The men's 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams are in action on
Friday. The 4x100m squad includes Quinton
Huguley, Chris
Brewington, Tyler
Swope and Tom
FitzSimons while the 4x400m team has Jason
Kymingham, Gigi
