Chad Brown Advances to Final in 100m Dash to Pace Mount Track at Colonial Relays

Williamsburg, Va. (April 2, 2011)-Chad Brown finished in second place in the 200-meter dash while advancing to the finals in the 100m dash to lead the Mount St. Mary's track and field teams at the Colonial Relays on Friday.

Brown was second in the 200m dash with a time of 21.76 seconds while he advanced to the finals in the 100m dash with a time of 10.99 seconds.

Tom FitzSimons had a solid day for the Mount as well, advancing to the finals in the 110m hurdles with a mark of 15.17 seconds while finishing fourth in the pole vault at 4.35m (14' 3.25").

For the women, Ashlyn DeCruise advanced to the semifinals in the 100m dash, finishing 11th with a time of 11.62 seconds. She also finished eighth in the 200m dash with a mark of 25.16. Desiree Scott was fourth in the 400m dash with a time of 56.69 seconds.

In the hammer throw on Thursday night, Madeline Midles finished in fifth place with a toss of 47.27m (155' 1") while Morgan Ostasewski was 10th with a mark of 43.95m (144' 2").

The meet concludes tomorrow.
