Richmond, Va. (April 15, 2011)-Ashley
DeCruise won the 100m dash and finished in third place in the
200m dash to lead the Mount St. Mary's track and field teams at the
VCU Ram Invitational, which was shortened due to rain and
lightning.
DeCruise won the 100m dash with a time of 11.75 seconds with
twin sister Ashlyn
DeCruise finishing ninth with a mark of 12.30. In the
200m, Ashley was third with a mark of 24.63 seconds with Ashlyn
fifth at 25.37.
In the 400m, freshman Desi
Scott was second with a mark of 56.15 with teammate Lily
Otu fourth at 57.37 seconds.
Teika
Robinson was second in the long jump at 5.52m (18' 1.5") with
Chantel
Lipkins fourth with a leap of 5.17m (16' 11.5"). Morgan
Ostasewicz was fourth in the shot put and the hammer throw while Madeleine
Midles was second in the hammer with a toss of 49.19m (161'
5").
On the men's side, Chad
Brown was sixth in the 100m dash (10.64) and second in the 200m
(22.41). Chris
Brewington placed fourth in the 400m dash while the 4x100m
relay team of Quinton
Huguley, Brewington, Tyler
Swope and Brown was third at 42.46 seconds. Huguley
earned third place in the long jump (7.01m, 23').
The Mount track teams are back in action next Saturday, April
23, at the Bucknell Team Challenge.
