Moon Township, Pa. (March 16, 2010)-Mount St. Mary's posted its first-ever win over a ranked opponent with a 19-13 win at No. 19 Robert Morris on Tuesday afternoon. Eric Ososki paced the Mount with a career-high six goals while leading scorer Cody Lehrer added five goals in the victory.

Sophomore twin brothers Bryant and Brett Schmidt had strong games for the Mount with Bryant posting a goal and four assists while Brett notched two goals and two assists. Sophomore Jake Willertz added two goals and two assists for the Mountaineers.

The Mount (1-2) used a string of eight unanswered goals to take the lead and held on for the victory. Trailing 6-2 early in the second quarter, the Mount scored the next seven goals to grab a 9-6 lead at the half.

After Keith Lee scored to give the Colonials (5-1) a four-goal advantage, the Mount countered when Lehrer scored the first of his five goals on the day just six seconds later on a feed from Mount face-off man Ben Trapp.

Ososki then sandwiched a pair of goals around a Jake Willertz score to even the game at 6-6 midway through the second quarter. Ososki then scored with 6:51 left in the second quarter to give the Mount a 7-6 advantage. Freshman Andrew Scalley and Willertz added goals to close the half as the Mount went to the locker room with a 9-6 lead.

Lehrer, who leads the Mount with 12 goals this season, scored 38 seconds into the second half to give the Mount a 10-6 lead, but Robert Morris fought back, whittling the Mount lead to 12-10 after three quarters of play.

The Colonials scored the opening two goals of the fourth quarter to tie the game at 12-12. Taylor Caparosa and Kyle Matisz scored back-to-back tallies in the opening 1:34 of the quarter to tie the game.

The Mount, however, responded with the next four goals to grab a 16-12 lead. Ososki's fifth goal of the day came on a feed from Trapp just 17 seconds after the Colonials had tied the score. Lehrer added two scores and Scalley one during the run that sealed the win for the Mountaineers.

Goalkeeper T.C. DiBartolo made 11 saves in the game for the Mount, which held a 43-42 advantage in shots in the contest. Trapp won 18-of-33 face-offs in the game while picking up a team-high nine ground balls. The Mount's extra-man unit produced five goals in seven attempts in the game.

Matisz led Robert Morris with three goals and an assist while Caparosa added a hat trick in the loss. Dillon Pope made 10 saves for the Colonials.

Mount St. Mary's entered the game 0-39 all-time against ranked opponents, including 0-20 against top 10 competition.

The 19 goals scored are the most goals in a game by a Mount team since a 21-5 win over Siena on April 22, 2001. The Mount's seven-goal second and fourth quarters are the most goals in a quarter by a Mount team since scoring eight against in the first quarter of the Mount's 18-5 win over Robert Morris on March 23, 2005.

The Mount returns to action on Saturday, March 20, when it opens Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play against Canisius at 1:00 p.m. at Waldron Family Stadium on campus.
