Emmitsburg, Md. (October 5, 2008)--Mount St.
Mary's defeated Sacred Heart, 2-0, in a Northeast Conference
women's soccer game on Sunday afternoon at Waldron Family Stadium
on campus. Senior Colleen Regan (Crofton, Md./Archbishop
Spalding) and freshman Sarah Malpezzi

her first collegiate goal with just under two minutes left in the
first half. Malpezzi took a Sacred Heart turnover about 30 yards
from the goal, turned and lofted a shot to the upper left part of
the net for the score.
From there, Mount goalkeeper Alicia Miller (Lititz,
Pa./Warwick) held the Pioneers (1-9-2, 0-2-0 NEC) off the
scoreboard. Miller made eight saves in the contest for her first
collegiate shutout.
The Pioneers best chance to score in the game came with 32 minutes
left when Lisa Nowakowski rifled a shot off the crossbar. Reichelt
made two saves in the game for Sacred Heart.

in the contest, including 7-to-2 in the second half.
