Washington, D.C. (September 16, 2007)--The Mount
St. Mary's women's soccer team lost at American, 2-0, on Sunday
afternoon in a non-conference matchup at Reeves Field. The loss
drops the Mount's record to 1-5 on the season.
Brooke Sheppard drove home a cross from Tatiana Bertolo just over
32 minutes into the game to give the Eagles (5-2-0) the lead.
American made the lead stand the rest of the way, adding an
insurance goal with 41 seconds left in the game when Kelsey
Brashear tallied her seventh score of the season on a pass from
Bertolo.
Mount goalkeeper Anna Lebo (Walkersville,
Md./Walkersville) made three saves in the game while
American's Hannah Radley made a pair of saves to earn the shutout.
The Eagles held a 16-to-4 advantage in shots in the game.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action on Friday, Sept. 21, when Towson
visits Waldron Family Stadium at 4:00 p.m. for the home opener.
