No. 5 Johns Hopkins scored all 10 goals in the second half to defeat Mount St. Mary's, 15-3, at the Mount's Waldron Family Stadium on Monday afternoon. Leading 5-3 at the half, the Blue Jays (8-4) outscored the Mount 7-0 in the third quarter to take control of the game.

The Blue Jays scored 21 seconds into the contest when Micheal Kimmel beat Mount goalkeeper Joe Zolezzi for his 15th goal of the year. Stephen Peyser added a goal at the 9:53 mark to make the score 2-0 before the Mount (4-10) responded. The Blue Jays, however, got a key goal with 0.3 seconds left in the quarter from Jake Byrne on a nice feed from Paul Rabil.

Rabil scored 2:02 into the second quarter to make it 4-2, but the Mount's Dave Orban answered with his 12th goal of the year with 8:29 left in the half to cut the deficit to one. Kevin Huntley gave Johns Hopkins a 5-3 lead at the break withen he scored on a Rabil assist at the 4:52 mark of the second quarter.

The turning point in the game came with 10:16 left in the third quarter. The Mount's Shaun Moran had a goal taken away when he was penalized for an illegal crosse for a 3:00 unreleable penalty. Instead of cutting the deficit to 6-4, the Mount saw the Blue Jays take advantage of the mistake with a pair of extra-man scores on the penalty to take an 8-3 lead. Kimmel and Steven Boyle converted during the extra-man opportunity for Johns Hopkins.

Johns Hopkins took control from that point, getting goals from Rabil, Kimmel, Boyle and Huntley over the final 3:59 of the quarter to take a commanding 12-3 lead. The Blue Jays outshot the Mount 22-3 in the decisive third quarter.

Johns Hopkins added three goals in the final quarter for the final score of 15-3. Max Chautin and Andrew Jaffe each tallied their first goals of the year while Michael Doneger chipped in his fourth of the season as well in the quarter for the Blue Jays.

Michael Gvozden relieved starting goalkeeper Jesse Schwartzman after the Mount tied the game at 2-2 in the first quarter and made nine saves in 43:49 of action to earn his first collegiate win in the cage. Chris Channing played the second half in goal for the Mount, making seven saves.

Rabil led Johns Hopkins with three goals and three assists for a six-point game while Kimmel (3g) and Huntley (2g, 1a) added three-point efforts in the contest.

The game was the final game of the 2007 season for the Mount, which missed the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference playoffs by one game this season.
