LEWISBURG, PA. (September 19, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's men's water polo faced two tough opponents on day one of the Bucknell Invite, both games being losses to No. Five Fordham and MIT. This makes the Mount's record 3-6 for the season. Matias Miranda earned his hat trick in the game against Fordham. While Luka Urosevic and Neven Cerkez earned their hat tricks in the game against MIT. Linc Smith was in goal for both games recording a total of nine saves between both games.
 
The Mountaineers found themselves down 13-1 going into halftime, with the solo goal coming from Miranda in the second quarter. The Mount was held scoreless by the ranked Fordham the entire first quarter.
 
Tight defense continued into the second half, as the Mount was only able to score one more goal in the third also from Miranda. Going into the fourth, the Mount was down 19-2. The Mount had three more goals come within the fourth. The goals came from Miranda, Urosevic and Will Matthews. This would finalize the score as 23-5 for the first loss of the day to Fordham.

The Mountaineers head into the the second game against MIT, two hours after falling to No. five Fordham. After the first goal coming from MIT, Cerkez was able to find the back of the net to start the Mount scoresheet in this game. Another goal in the first quarter came from Aleksandar Radosavljevic. The first ends with Mount down 3-2. Going into the second, Urosevic was able to score two goals, followed by a goal from Cerkez. Urosevic was then able to complete a hat trick off a tipped pass to Matthews to end the quarter, score being 9-6, MIT winning.
 
Opening the third, Radosavljevic added another tally by his name when he found the back of the net again. Then Jack Fox later in the quarter was able to add his name to the scoresheet. Going into the fourth, the Mount was down 12-8. Aaron Tarr scored the first goal of fourth and then Cerkez floated the ball above the goalkeeper to complete his hat trick as well as score the final goal of the game. Mount fell to MIT 15-10.
