EMMITSBURG, Md. (August 15, 2026) – The Mount St. Mary's women's soccer home opener scheduled for Sunday, August 16, at 6 pm has been moved to Monday, August 17, at 4 pm due to the weather.  The two local rivals will square off at the Mount's Waldron Family Stadium.

MOUNT UPDATE
 
In the opener on the road, the Mount fell 3-1 to the UMBC Retrievers. Fineen Cregan scored the first goal of the season with a penalty in the 27^th minute. Abby Makela finished the match with six saves.
 
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
 
Towson makes their 2026 debut on Sunday, coming off a 5-5-6 season a year ago. The Tigers retain their three double digit point scorers – Kale'a Perry, Sophie Thibeault, and Emely Rubio – along with starting goalkeeper Teagan Gardner.
 
SERIES HISTORY
 
Of the past 24 meetings, the Tigers won 21 to the Mountaineers' three. Towson has also won the last seven matches, with the Mount last winning in 2012 by a 4-1 score.
 
UP NEXT
 
Back on the road this coming Thursday (Aug. 20), the Mount heads to Bucknell University to play the Bison.
