EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 20, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's baseball hosts Maryland on Tuesday afternoon for a midweek, non-conference match up, with first pitch scheduled for 3:00 p.m.in Emmitsburg. After being swept by Fairfield over the weekend, the Mountaineers own an overall record of 17-19 with a 10-11 record in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
MOUNT UPDATE
Mount St. Mary's struck first in game two as
Phoenix Williams singled off a bunt to first base, scoring
Evan Meier from third in the top of the second inning. Later in the inning,
Alex Mendes batted in
Cameron Biller on a fielder's choice for a 2-0 lead in the second inning. Fairfield hit back a half inning later, scoring four runs in the frame. Later in the third inning, Biller once again stepped up at the plate, hitting a single to drive in
Ty Fredo to cut the lead to one run.
Fairfield increased their lead to three in the third and fourth innings before
Christian Bauman hit out a solo home run to right field in the sixth. In the top of the seventh inning,
Sam Meyer doubled to left field, scoring
Parker Hildebrand while
Bryce Rudisill tripled later in the inning, scoring
Sam Meyer for the Mount's final run of game two.
During game three, Fairfield opened up a five run lead through seventh inning before the Mount went on the offensive.
Ty Fredo started the Mountaineer scoring in the top of the eighth inning, sending out a two-run home run to left field to cut the deficit to three runs.
Alex Mendes continued the Mountaineers run offense in the top of the ninth inning, sending out a solo home run to left field, cutting the lead to two. Rounding off the series' runs for the Mountaineers
