MOUNT UPDATE:  Mount St. Mary's stretched its win streak to a season-best four games with a 10-2 win over Coppin State at home on Tuesday.  Avery Dinges went 3-for-3 with two triples in the win while Janie Lofland went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored.  Kaya Hannon picked up the win in the circle, allowing one run and three hits in four innings of work.

NIAGARA UPDATE:  Niagara was swept in a doubleheader at Buffalo on Wednesday, falling by the scores of 14-13 and 8-2.  The Purple Eagles are now 0-19 overall and 0-10 in the MAAC this season.  In the opening game of the doubleheader at Buffalo, Niagara rallied from an 8-0 first-inning deficit to pull within a pair of runs at 10-8.  Trailing 14-8 heading into the seventh, Niagara scored five times and had the tying run on base before falling.  Sophia Marrero (.375, 2HR, 11 RBI), Jolyn Gibbons (.347, 3 HR, 10 RBI) and Donnalea Barnett (.333, 8R) pace the offense.   Ryan Hatty (0-5, 5.62 ERA), Jenna Martin (0-2, 8.53 EA) and Gianna Graber (0-6, 15.25 ERA) have logged the most innings in the circle.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES:  Niagara holds an 8-6 lead in the all-time series that began back in 2006.  The Mount is 4-3 against Niagara in MAAC regular season meetings since joining the conference in 2022-23.  Last year, the two teams split a doubleheader at Niagara with each winning by the score of 5-2.  The Mount is 1-2 all-time at home against the Purple Eagles.

NEWS AND NOTES
  • Avery Dinges went 3-for-3 with two triples in the Mount's 10-2 win over Coppin State.The two triples tie the program record for triples in a game.Dinges is the sixth Mountaineer to achieve the feat, the last being Amanda Burk against Seton Hall on March 14, 2009.
  • Dinges also had a stolen base against the Eagles, giving her a team-high 25 on the year.Dinges is second in the nation in steals per game (0.89) and fifth in the nation in total steals (25).Dinges is 14-for-27 (.519) over the past seven games with five doubles, three triples.She leads the Mount with a .424 average, 25 runs, 11 doubles and 25 stolen bases.
  • Gina Del Giorno had her 13-game hit streak snapped in the Mount's win over Coppin State on Tuesday.Del Giorno is hitting .380 this season with three triples, nine stolen bases and 15 runs scored.Del Giorno is hitting .523 (23-of-44) over the past 14 games with nine multi-hit games over that stretch.
  • Sophia Schmehl went 2-0 with a 0.50 ERA in a pair of complete-game victories in the Mount's sweep of Manhattan this past weekend.Schmehl is now 3-1 with a 1.50 ERA in MAAC play for the Mount this year.For the season, she is 4-4 with a 3.63 ERA in a team-high 52.0 innings of work.
  • The Mount's four-game win streak is the Mount's longest since a 13-game win streak in 2023.
UP NEXT:  The heads to Buffalo, N.Y., for a three-game MAAC series at Canisius on April 11 and 12.
