EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 13, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's baseball hosts Geroge Mason on Tuesday for a mid-week, non-conference game in Emmitsburg, with first pitch at E.T. Straw Family Stadium scheduled for 3:00 p.m. With their Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference sweep of Saint Peter's this past weekend, Mount St. Mary's moved to an overall record of 17-15 while improving to a 10-8 record in the MAAC.
MOUNT UPDATE
The Mountaineers exploded in the bottom half of the first inning, scoring five runs against Saint Peter's for the early lead.
Christian Bauman singled to start the scoring, driving in
Alex Mendes while
Phoenix Williams singled later in the inning to drive in
Ty Fredo for a 2-0 lead.
Carson Clark continued the scoring in the bottom of the first, driving in both
Evan Meier and Stokely for a 4-0 lead before
Sam Dinitz ended off the inning with a single to center field that scored Clark.
Saint Peter's scored in the top half of the second to get on the board before Mendes sent a towering ball to left field in the bottom half of the inning to replace the run.
Phoenix Williams again singled to score
Ty Fredo from third base, taking a 7-1 lead into the third. Later in the third inning, Fredo doubled to right center to drive in Bauman and
Mike Toth for a 9-1 lead.
The Peacocks scored on two more occasions in the top half of the fifth inning before
Christian Bauman doubled to score
Alex Mendes in the bottom half of the inning. Stokely rounded out the fifth inning with a single to center field that scored Bauman again for a 11-3 lead. The Mountaineers rounded out the series with two runs in the sixth as Toth hit out a deep home run to left followed by Mendes reaching base on an error, scoring
Ryan McKay to finish up the game.
Eli DeRossi started the game for the Mountaineers, throwing four and two-thirds on the mound while striking out four Peacocks in the process. Coming in from the bullpen,
Maximus McCrary earned his fifth win on the year, throwing two and a third innings of scoreless baseball.
SCOUTING THE PATRIOTS
Since their last meeting with the Mount on March 18, George Mason has accumulated a record of 7-8, sweeping Saint Louis while notching a midweek win against Longwood. The Patriots also notched wins against Rhode Island, Davidson, and Richmond.
Owen Clyne leads the Patriots from the plate, leading the team with a .362 batting average and a 1.019 OPS while also leading George Mason bats with 31 RBI and 73 Total Bases. Among the Patriots pitching staff, Logan Rumberg leads the team with a 4-1 record and a 3.18 ERA through 51.0 IP, recording 53 strikeouts, the most on the staff.
