Mountaineers Throttle Saint Peter’s 15-3 During Game One in Emmitsburg

EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 10, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's baseball came out of Friday afternoon's game against Saint Peter's in the win column, notching a 15-3 win against the Peacocks in Emmitsburg. With the win, the Mountaineers return to .500 with a 15-15 overall record and an 8-8 record in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

Saint Peter's scored early in the second inning to take an early 1-0 lead before the Mountaineers exploded for seven runs in the bottom half of the second. With the bases loaded, Nate Wiles sent a single through the right side of the infield to take a 2-1 lead after both Evan Meier and David Stokely scored. A few at-bats later, Alex Mendes doubled to left center, clearing the bases for a 4-1 lead before the first baseman stole third base and went home on a throwing error from the catcher. Ty Fredo capped off the inning with a two-run shot to leftfield to make it a 7-1 ball game.

Saint Peter's scored in the third and fourth innings to cut the lead to 7-3, only for the Mount to respond in the bottom half of the fourth. Stokely walked to start the fourth inning scoring, driving Alex Mendes in from third to score followed by a Phoenix Williams single to right field that scored both Fredo and Christian Bauman for a 10-3 lead.

Bauman came back to the plate in the fifth inning, singling through the right side to drive Carson Clark into score for the Mountaineers eleventh run of the afternoon. Later in the bottom of the seventh inning, Ty Fredo reached first on an error by the shortstop, sending both Bauman and Joey Agar into score. And David Stokely ended the Mountaineer outpour, sending a two-run home run out to left field to cap off a 15-3 afternoon at E.T. Straw Family Stadium.

Bauman and Agar both recorded two hits on the day Mendes, Fredo, Stokely, Williams, Clark, Meier, Nate Wiles, and Sam Dinitz all recorded solo hits during the game. Stokely led the game with three RBIs followed by Mendes, Fredo, Williams, and Wiles who all recorded two RBIs each. Both Bauman and Fredo recorded three runs against the Peacocks.

Starting the game today, Serigne Sarre notched three and a third innings on the Mound, recording five strikeouts while allowing all three of Saint Peter's runs. Friday remained a good day for the Mount Bullpen, as Maximus McCrary notched his fourth win of the year, striking out two batters in two and two-thirds innings of work. Brandon Rice came in from the pen an inning later, working two strikeouts in an inning. Mike Arndt also made an appearance for an inning working out of the end after walking two batters. And both Jake Andrews and Jackson Snyder featured out of the bullpen in the top of the ninth, with Snyder freezing the last Peacock with a fast ball to end the game.
