The Mountaineers started the game off strong in the bottom half of the second inning, with
Mike Toth reaching base on an error from the pitcher that drove in both
Evan Meier and
David Stokely. Saint Peter's took their only lead in the top of the third, driving in three runs during the end before the Mount tied things up later that half inning when
Ty Fredo flew out to right field for a sacrifice fly, driving in
Christian Bauman to tie the game.
Later in the bottom half of the fourth inning, Bauman launched a ball out to right field for a three-run home run to take a 6-3 lead over the Peacocks. The Mountaineers added to their lead later in the fifth inning as
Carson Clark singled to score Toth for a 7-3 lead. Mount St. Mary's scored their final run of the game in the bottom of the sixth as Meier drove in Fredo on a sacrifice fly to left field.
Saint Peter's made things interesting late on in the game as a Peacocks home run came in the top half of the eighth. The Peacocks followed soon after in the top of the ninth as a single to center field drove a runner in. With the bases loaded,
JB Manarchuck struck out Saint Peter's Lavely before producing another whiff to close the game and shutdown any chance of a comeback.

Kaden Kimble recorded two and two-thirds innings on the mound while giving up three runs and notching two strikeouts in his start against the Peacocks. After Kimble departed, Halcisak came in from the bullpen to throw four and two-thirds of one run baseball, striking out nine batters in the process to earn his first win of the year. For his one and two-thirds of relief, Manarchuck recorded his sixth save of the season, striking out three opponents.
