PHILADELPHIA, Penn. (March 15, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's women's water polo fell in their third and final Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game of the weekend on Sunday afternoon, being usurped by Marist by a score of 14-8. With the loss, the Mount slides to a MAAC record of 2-1 and an overall record of 7-10.
The Red Foxes jumped out to an early 5-2 lead through the first quarter of play against the Mountaineers. But the Mount defense rebounded in the second, only allowing two Marist goals while scoring one, sending the Mountaineers into halftime down 7-3.
Marist opened the scoring in the third quarter, putting three scores into the back of the net while the Mount recorded two goals to keep things interesting. The same story unfolded in the fourth and final quarter, as the Mount found themselves out scored 4-3 after the final siren, rounding out the final game in Philadelphia.
Lotte Schreurs led the way for the Mount once again, recording a hat trick against the Red Foxes while
Kiele Davidson recorded a two-goal day against Marist.
Anna Kegel,
Natalie Marquiss, and
Leilani Horan all scored solo efforts while Marquiss recorded two steals and Schreurs drew three exclusions.
Olivia Fernie recorded two steals in goal while notching six saves in between the posts.

The Mountaineers travel to Poughkeepsie, New York next weekend, facing off against La Salle on 21 and Siena on March 22 with both games slated for 1:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m. starts respectively.
