VMI scored to start the second before Schreurs went back-to-back to regain a four-goal lead. Another VMI goal flew into the shallow end net before Kiele Davidson found the net for the first time against the Keydets. VMI scored one more time before the halftime siren sounded for a 9-6 lead heading into the break.

Attacking the deep end once again, the Mountaineers started the third with a goal from Lucia Redaelli a minute into the quarter.
