(February 6, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's bowling ended the first day of their home invitational in pole position after five matches of the Baker format, with the Mountaineers going 4-1 in Friday's play while averaging 210.4. The hosts hold a 26-pin lead over second place Niagara, who checks into second place with a 5-0 record, averaging 209.4.

Leah Varela bounced back in the second match of the day, defeating 1,046 – 919, with the teams five-strike game four proving pivotal in the win. The Mountaineers continued their winning ways in the third match of the day against Wagner, dominating the Seahawks in a 1,027 – 497.
The Mountaineers handled Howard easily, surpassing the Bison 1,088 – 823 after a testy second game where both teams exchanged strike after strike. In the fifth and final match of the day, the Mount took on a dominant Bryant team, who had recorded a 3-1 record on the day up to that point. After a eight-strike third game, the Mountaineers rounded out another win, defeating the bulldogs in a close affair, 1,110 – 1,032.
