Mount Bowling Readies to Host Mount Shootout

EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 4, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's bowling prepares for their annual Mount Shootout, taking place this weekend at Clearview Lanes.  
 
FORMAT: The weekend follows a standard three-day event, with Baker pinfall on Friday and traditional play on Saturday. Sunday features three best-of-seven rounds.  
 
PARTICIPATING TEAMS: Mount St. Mary's (hosts), Alvernia, Bryant, Duquesne, FDU, Howard, Holy Family, Kutztown, Mercyhurst, Molloy, Morgan State, Niagara, UMES, Wagner
 
ABOUT THE MOUNT: At the competitive Northeast Classic, hosted by Sacred Heart, the Mount earned a 16th place finish out of 35 teams. Aliza Shirk, Alyssa Balest, and Leah Varela all recorded averages over 200 during individual day. Mikalah Carter and Kayleigh McMullen also provided clutch efforts in pivotal situations.
 
SCOUTING THE FIELD: Of the 14 teams scheduled to compete, nine of them are either in the Top 25 of the latest National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) poll or has received votes. Alongside with the Mount in the Top 10 is #8 Niagara.  
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE: One more regular season tournament awaits Mount St. Mary's – the Stallings Invitational, hosted by North Carolina A&T State from February 27-March 1.
